We came up with this idea for a Star Wars based video game when we decided to try some new things in Director. The game is based off the Imperial Tie Fighters and other various starships from the movie Star Wars. As we are HUGE Stars Wars fans, it was only natural for us to develop Emperial Fighter. With Emperial Fighter we were looking to go for your basic "shooter" game featuring various difficulty levels. Easy level encorporated slow moving Y-Wing fighters which made for easier, larger targets for the player to hit. Medium level encorporates a faster moving X-Wing fighter. It's slightly smaller then the Y-Wing, but its speed makes it a little harder for the player to destroy. The final Hard level features an extremely fast moving A-Wing fighter. The A-Wing was the smallest fastest moving starship in the Rebel fleet, so we thought it would be perfect for this level. It's small, sleak design and amazing speed makes it a real challenge for most players to hit. The main objective of the game is for you to take control of your Tie Fighter and try and take out as many Rebel ships as possible and rack up points using your 3 lives. You assess points for Hits (how many times you strike the opposing Rebel ships), and for Damage (shots that hit the main hull of the Rebel ships are worth more damage.. wings are worth less). Your points are then added for your total. |
