When Epic Records recording artist Dope was searching for someone to help them with their sophmore release Life they contacted us. Dope was looking for various images to fit along with the themes to several songs on Life for their CD insert. For the song Stop they wanted a simple, yet detailed image of a stop sign that appeared to be tagged with the word "dope" spray painted across it in black. What we came up with is this detailed stop sign complete with bullet holes and dings. With Dope's hard-edged, rough, urban style, we only found it fitting to show it in this rugged manner. We gave it the dirty, worn look filled with spots of rust, bullet holes, missing bolts, scratches, and worn letters. For the song Dope was looking for an image of an old NYC styled license plate that read "LIFE". Once again we wanted to give it a rugged look, so we gave it that dirty, beat-up feel we gave the stop sign. The license plate is complete with bullet holes, rust, scratches, dents, and even gave it some blood splatters for that roadkill feel. |
